What this site actually does when you open it.
rajshekhar.me is a static portfolio for Rajshekhar Basu. The pages are HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files. There is no account, no sign-in, and no contact form. The contact page points at the published address rajshekharbasu.5@gmail.com. Mail you send from your own mail app does not pass through this site, and the site does not keep a copy.
The site does not set its own cookies. A few preferences stay in the browser so the next page can match the last one.
theme in localStorage. Light or dark. If nothing is saved yet, the first visit follows the system preference and then stores that choice. The theme toggle on each page updates the same key.flicker-nav in sessionStorage. A flag used while moving between pages so the transition does not replay from scratch. It is cleared when the navigation finishes, and it disappears when the tab closes. Those keys stay on the device. Clearing site data for rajshekhar.me removes them. The pages do not send the stored values to a server of their own.
Pages load Geist from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Opening a page sends that request to Google, including the usual connection data a font host receives.
Two published pages embed YouTube videos: Blender Animations and the archived Monument page. Loading those pages asks YouTube for the player. YouTube can set its own cookies and collect what their player usually collects. The rest of the portfolio does not embed that player.
Some case studies link out to separate live demos (WordPerfect, TabSplit, the spatial portfolio, zeroeka, and autoregressive-text). Those sites are not this one. They only load if you follow the link or, on the Three.js page, if the embedded preview frames load.
There is no analytics script, advertising pixel, or account system in the portfolio. The homepage, resume, work pages, about, contact, and privacy pages do not ask for a name, and they do not post a form. The resume PDF button builds the file in the browser. Clicking it loads the PDF library from jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net). Until that click, the resume page does not request that host.
The site is hosted on Vercel. Serving a file means the host receives the request, the same way any static host does. This page does not add a tracker on top of that.
